It’s been a shaky couple of weeks quality wise for the classiest show on TV, but it hit its stride once again, as interesting new developments have left the Sterling Cooper partners helpless, and Joan’s professional future uncertain.

It was a very mixed bag this week on Game of Thrones... A VERY mixed bag. At times, it was great and at others, not so much. There some ethical issues raised in this episode, the best performance ever given by one cast member, the worst performance ever given by another, and a new plotline that strays from the books and is frankly a little bit stupid. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

It’s time for another week of blood and boobies as Game of Thrones airs its second episode of season five. Last week’s season opener was a tad dull, serving only to catch up with the main characters since we left them in season four, but the ball has started rolling as we saw an awesome fight, a cheesy yet enjoyable victory and the return of a true badass.

Lords and ladies, your attention please.....It’s back. Oh yes, the murderous, incestuous and life ruining fantasy we call Game of Thrones is back for its fifth season. Arguably the most popular show on TV right now, audiences all over the world have fallen head over heels for the HBO show that’s been adapted from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series, and it’s no surprise; the show has been absolutely sublime. It’s rich in its drama and character development and has provided some of the most shocking TV moments of recent years, not to mention being one of the most violent and sexed up shows on as well. So, after Season Four’s explosive ending, what’s going down in Westeros?

This is it, ladies and gents. The first season of Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul has come to an end. It may have its issues, but they’re not important because the show has ended on a high, and that’s what we all wanted. It’s been a very up-and-down experience watching this show; more often than not, it was utterly great. The performances were terrific, the writing superb and overall it just made for great entertainment, but then at times it suffered pacing issues and boring plots. That was why there was a certain degree of fear approaching this season finale, but luckily, there was nothing to worry about.

There’s only one episode left of Better Call Saul, and whilst that’s not as sad a statement as it should be, we could be looking at an excellent finale following this week’s heartbreaking penultimate episode.

This is it, ladies and gentlemen. The Walking Dead Season Five has come to a close. In this 90 minute finale (And by 90 minutes what they really meant was an hour long episode with half an hour of commercials), the show really outdid itself in terms of quality, and it boiled down to moments of nail biting tension. by Robbie Jones Better Call Saul has really been up and down for its first season. At times it’s been great, with excellent performances and good humour, and other times, it’s been terribly slow and quite boring. Every week, whether it was good or bad, the episode ends and it begs the question “What will next week be like?” because so far it’s been hard to guess any kind of consistency. Well, it feels like the last two episodes of the show might be pretty damn good, if this week is anything to go by. |
